MIDesign Studio designs an artistic pavilion to host the innovative idea of ADAF Greece and the Ministry of Culture and Sports for the 85th Thessaloniki International Fair.
The design concept is based on the above principles of this year's Fair. The creation of an exhibition space which opens to the public, invites the visitors to pass through and explore the ancient and modern culture of Greece using new technologies such as AR or VR tools.
The culture path is a modern route into greek culture. The idea was based on the innovative design of the architect Dimitris Pikionis for the paths of the Acropolis and Filopappous Hill (1951-1957). The path is not perceived only as a route but as an experience where people meet, interact, watch, feel and learn. A modern reinterpretation of Pikionis paths, with movement areas and rest areas for human interaction followed by vertical surfaces placed in different angles in order to create an interestic game between the interior and exterior of the pavilion.
