MID Team has designed the first pop-up store of a leading greek pastry company inside the renovated Modiano Market in Thessaloniki.
The store´s design is inspired by the image of a traditional greek kitchen with its unique cookware handmade in copper, bronze or wood. Items such as pans and pots, are still being produced in Thessaloniki's old neighborhoods, next to Modiano Market. Copper pans, decorated with natural patterns and shapes form a collage on the walls of the pop-up store. Together with terracotta elements, light wood features and shiny white surfaces conclude the design of a pastry store, welcoming the visitors of Modiano Market to taste traditional flavours of Thessaloniki feeling as if they were - in an abstract and poetic way - inside a traditional old kitchen.
